Old piano brands are still popular among many people and are preferred for buying. Some old piano manufacturing units still exist and continue to produce great quality pianos of the same type as they were doing more than a century ago.
Santer Pianos: Santer started manufacturing pianos in 1819 and still continue to produce the instruments. This is the oldest company existing in the field. Combining the technology of the U.S. Piano manufacturers and more traditional Viennese manufacturers the piano become unique and popular instantly with superior sound quality which still continues.
Steinway Pianos: These pianos started to be officially produced from 1853. This company is best known for older piano brands of top quality.
Boesendorfer Pianos: Established in 1828, these pianos cam with unique characteristics. Besides the normal 88 keys, their instruments also come with 92 and 97 key options. The sound of these pianos is fuller than most other brands. The company changed hands once and they there is now
a proposal to sell the company to yamaha but that has not changed the quality. The specialty of this brand is the best quality of the wood used for the sandal board.
Petrof pianos: Founded in 1864 in Europe, this company is known for building pianos with wider range of tones with sound boards of aged spouse, cut in one piece and left to dry for 5 years, to get clear sounds. These pianos are even now built by hand by trained and skilled workers.
The above manufacturing companies are very old and still exist and continue to manufacture their same old brands of quality pianos. But many old companies which manufactured quality pianos do not exist now but their products are still being used.
